The Caroler
The Caroler stands in the Festive Room. Looking at it briefly stops it; prolonged eye contact can still let it move. Looking away makes it charge. A flashlight on it makes it aggressive immediately. It has no badge of its own.
The stare rule
Entering the Festive Room aggros it unless it is already chasing someone else. Looking directly at it temporarily stops it; staring indefinitely is unsafe. The moment you turn, it closes at a speed the entity page calls extreme, with bells while it moves. After a charge it can be frozen again; the page says that window is 2–4 seconds and calls the timing community-tested. I do not have a second page that repeats those seconds, so the basic look-to-stop behavior has 2 sources while the timings have 1 source.
The loop the page recommends is short: watch for two or three seconds, back up, turn and run for one or two seconds, then look again. Repeat until you are out of the room. The back wall of this room is the Liminal Home entrance, which is why the route crosses the Caroler at all.
When it arrived
V2.0 on 5 Aug 2026 added the Caroler. The update log calls it the one overhaul entity that had not been previewed. It can step into the neighboring Lobby corridor under conditions the entity page describes as specific, not constant. Community threat notes put it at the top of the hostile list. Current contact is fatal.
